Each session builds a chapter of your plan, delivered as a polished deck with detailed appendices and a video walkthrough.
Once created for one product and ICP (ideal customer profile), the plan can be easily adapted across your portfolio. It’s more than a plan—it’s a repeatable GTM template for your entire organization. How long does it take? Typically, two weeks with 2 half days of meetings and 3 days of collaborative work sessions.

Phase I - Preparation
Customization and Team Kickoff (4-6 hours, virtual)
- Preparation Meetings (5-10 days prior to work sessions)
- Outline customization session. (Adding or modifying outline listed below in 90-minute prep meeting with management team).
- Benchmark and goal setting. (Establishing the measurable benchmark KPIs and goals your organization needs to hit such as lead and sales value, growth percentages, etc.)
- Team kick-off meeting and prep assignments. (Quick and easy information gathering tasks assigned to team participants. The idea is to have your team come to the planning sessions with as much of what is listed below at their fingertips and on a single slide and any addendum details they wish to include. What they don’t have will be established and documented in the planning sessions.)

Phase II - 3 Days of Team Work Sessions
Day 1 Work Session (8 hours w/ lunch break, virtual or in-person)
- Plan Components
- Org/vendor chart (Who does what on the marketing team including freelancers and vendors.)
- Brand summary (Positioning statement, style guide, etc.)
- ICP (Ideal Customer Profile or persona and sub-ICP categories.)
- What we are selling (Brief description and elevator pitch.)
- Pricing strategy (Pricing, rate card, justifications, etc.)
- Competitive intelligence summary (Known strengths and weaknesses and research requirements, competitors to watch, etc.)
- MarTech stack (What tech you have or need.)
- CRM and data resources (Lead lists and sources, CRM database selects, etc.)
- Media/events list and calendar (Where you will be advertising and promoting.)
- Earned media assets (Social pages, email lists, etc.)
- Offer audit and development (Current and planned offers you present to encourage action and engagement.)
- Target keywords and topics (for SEO, SEM, AI query optimization, blog posts, video, etc.)
- Content audit (Current and planned content inventory.)
- New content title development (SEO/AI-centric content titles and headlines for blog posts, videos, etc. based on target SEO terms.)
- Nurture campaigns (Current or planned email and media nurture.)
- Marketing calendar
(Important dates, product launches, events and seasonality within your category.)
Day 2 Work Session (8 hours w/ lunch break, virtual or in=person)
- GTM Customer Journey Mapping and KPIs
- Customer journey narrative (Step-by-sped text description of your ICP customer journey.)
- Customer journey map (Visualization of your customer journey visualizing mouth of funnel, through content discovery and nurture, to sale and ROI measurement.)
- Customer success tactics (Onboarding, upsell/cross-sell, retention tactics, etc.)
- Gaps and Glitches (Identify performance harming gaps and glitches within current customer journey that need to be fixed right away.)
- Metrics and ROI Optimization
- KPIs for full journey (Ad performance, click rates, conversion rates, cost-per-lead/sale, etc.)
- Dashboard design(s) (Visualization of spend to sale KPIs)
- Lead scoring specifics (Actions, audience/lead type, responses, etc.)
- Speed to lead and close tactics (Sales triage process and timing.)
- High impact points of optimization
(Identifying A/B testing and improvement opportunities within your customer journey map.)
Day 3 Work Session (8 hours w/ lunch break, virtual or in-person)
- Coordination and Admin
- Open issues (Priority issues, missing elements, decisions that need to be made, gaps and glitches that need to be addresses etc.)
- Budgets and resources (High level spreadsheet of marketing budget.)
- Unified schedule with task assignments. (Multi-track schedule with specific tasks, milestones and responsible parties.)

Phase III - Plan Delivery
Plan Editing and Polishing (within 5 business days of work session, 4 to 8 hours, virtual)
- Post Work Session
- Plan cleanup, editing and polishing (Plan improvement and editing done independently by Lightspeed consultants.)
- Management review and editing (Collaborative preview and on-the-spot editing with Lightspeed consultant and management team)
- Group presentation and video recording of the plan (Final plan presentation to management and all team members.
- Scheduling plan updates (Quarterly plan updates and refreshes.)
